About GeneDevStudios
We're here to make it. Better software, built specifically for the work. Pricing that is transparent, predictable, and fair — from day one and at every renewal.
Based in Oklahoma.
Our mission
“Hone your compliance.”
Compliance work is exacting. The tools that support it should be too — and the market that delivers them should be fair. We build software that respects the complexity of formal security assessments and sell it at prices that respect the people buying it.
Control Risk Assessment Framework Tool
A web-based assessment platform designed around the full lifecycle of a formal security assessment. From initial scoping through findings, reporting, and POA&M tracking — CRAFT keeps assessment teams aligned without sacrificing the detail the work requires.
Built for collaborative teams: assessors document findings in their own controls while managers track progress across the full assessment, all in real time.
SSP Authoring Desktop App
A desktop application for authoring System Security Plans against any loaded catalog. FORGE produces OSCAL JSON that imports directly into CRAFT, along with Word and PDF exports for human distribution — keeping the SSP and the assessment in sync from the start.
Works fully offline. Your data stays on your machine.
GeneDevStudios started as an idea — that the information technology and cybersecurity compliance space deserved better, and that someone should build it.
The existing software wasn't built for the work. Workflows didn't match how formal assessments actually run. Interfaces weren't designed around the control structures assessors work in every day. And the pricing models used by the larger vendors in the space were deliberately opaque — quotes that require sales calls, renewals structured to be unpredictable, and licensing designed to make the true cost of ownership impossible to know in advance.
That's not a market failure. It's a choice those vendors made. GeneDevStudios was founded to make a different one.
The goal isn't just to build software we'd use ourselves. It's to change the standard for what this industry offers and what it charges — to demonstrate that purpose-built compliance tools can exist at prices that are fair, predictable, and don't require a procurement process to understand. A Manager seat is $35 a month. An Assessor seat is $20. Anvil FORGE is $50, once. Those numbers don't change at renewal.
That's what a fair market looks like. We intend to prove it scales.
General-purpose GRC platforms are built to cover everything. That breadth comes at a cost: workflows that don't match how assessments actually run, reporting that requires significant customization, and interfaces that weren't designed with a formal control structure in mind.
The Anvil suite starts from the other direction. Every feature exists because a formal assessment needs it — the control hierarchy, the objective-level finding structure, the inherited-control model, the handoff from SSP authoring to assessment execution. Nothing is bolted on.
The result is software that gets out of the way and lets assessors focus on the work.
We use AI tools to accelerate development. All code, architecture, and product decisions are reviewed, tested, and owned by our team.
No GeneDevStudios product shall directly or indirectly send user data to external AI services. This commitment applies to GeneDevStudios' own design and architecture decisions — it does not govern the internal operations of third-party payment or infrastructure providers.
If that ever changes — because we ship a feature that does involve AI processing of user data — we will say so clearly before it ships, not after. That is what transparency means in practice.
