Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website genedevstudios.com, Anvil CRAFT, and Anvil FORGE (collectively, the “Services”) operated by Genetic Development Studios LLC (“GeneDevStudios”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Services. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent.

The Services are intended for professional and business use in the information technology and cybersecurity compliance industries. Use of the Services for personal, consumer, or non-commercial purposes is not the intended purpose.

2. Description of Services

Anvil CRAFT

Anvil CRAFT is a web-based Control Risk Assessment Framework Tool provided as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscription. It is designed for security assessors and compliance managers performing assessments against NIST, CIS, and other supported frameworks. Access is seat-based and billed on a monthly subscription.

Anvil FORGE

Anvil FORGE is a desktop application for authoring System Security Plans (SSPs) and related compliance documentation. It is sold as a perpetual license for the purchased major version. The license grants you the right to install and use Anvil FORGE on your own devices.

Early access period

The Services are currently in early access. Features, pricing, and availability are subject to change during this period. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes to active subscribers.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Not share your credentials with others outside of permitted organizational use
• Not create accounts using automated means or under false pretenses

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Anvil CRAFT subscriptions

Anvil CRAFT seats are billed monthly. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Current pricing is published at genedevstudios.com/pricing.

Trial period

Anvil CRAFT Manager seats include a free trial period as stated on the pricing page at the time of purchase. At the end of the trial, your subscription will begin and your payment method will be charged automatically unless you cancel before the trial expires.

Anvil FORGE perpetual license

Anvil FORGE is a one-time purchase. Your license grants you the right to use the purchased major version indefinitely. Updates within that major version are included. Major version upgrades, if offered, may be available at a separate upgrade price.

Price changes

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Active subscribers will receive at least 30 days' notice before a price change takes effect on their account. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By providing a payment method, you authorize us to charge it for all fees incurred. All fees are in US dollars and are non-refundable except as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services or related systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Services
• Resell or sublicense access to the Services without written permission
• Upload or transmit malicious code, scripts, or content designed to harm the Services or other users
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Services beyond normal use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section without prior notice.

6. Intellectual property

The Services, including all software, interfaces, content, and trademarks, are the property of Genetic Development Studios LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited license necessary to use the Services as intended.

Your data — Assessment data, documents, and other content you create or upload using the Services remain your property. You grant us a limited license to store and process that data solely to provide the Services to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Genetic Development Studios LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Genetic Development Studios LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

You may cancel your subscription or close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future charges but does not entitle you to a refund of amounts already paid except as described in our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. In the event of termination for cause (such as a violation of these Terms), no refund will be issued.

Upon termination, your right to use the Services ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and governing law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Oklahoma.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active account holders by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
